I adore Hayley Caine...

Hayley Caine lives in Crystal Palace and is one of my new favourite people. Such a beautiful person and a has lovely aura to go with it. Check out what Lucy and Graeme did when they got their mits on her... I think you'll agree she's a cutie...

Peace up, A town down.

One more May bank holiday to go and the sun is still here...

...all you need is a little mascara and the Smashbox Limitless Lip Stain & Colour Seal Balm in Guava. Perfect summer look. If you go for waterproof mascara, it will be pretty pool proof too! I love Smashbox. They don't shout about it, but all their products are vegan too, so all you animal enthusiasts out there - get on it!

Smashbox is exclusive to Debenhams, and the lip stains will be released in June.

That's me on the monitor...

I'm going to be in an advert! I can officially confirm! But what for I could not possibly tell! All I can do is let you know that I had a lovely morning in a beautiful house in Highbury, with Lucy Wearing doing my make up (OBVIOUSLY) and the 32 guys (Will & Dylan) from Pulse Films telling me what to do. It's was brilliant.

Now all you have to do is spot the advert, and comment back when you've seen it. Yeah? Yeah.

Jurlique... My three summer must haves.

I'm telling you all I can't get enough of Jurlique. My three summer/festival must haves are the brand new Moisturising Hand Sanitiser, which is completely natural but will still kill 98% of bacteria in thirty seconds. Anti-bac gel is a festival must have. I think I would always rather bathe in the stuff than brave the showers!
Seconds up, you have to have the Lavender Hydrating Mist on your person at all times. If this heat is going to continue (as it always does here in ol Blighty) the cooling Lavender will rehydrate and refresh you in an instant, as well as being an excellent way to revive tired and dry make up after a long day. Trust me, if you are starting to look a little separated, this will bring your make up back to life.
Last but by no means least, you MUST try the Rose Silk Finishing Powder. It holds make up on all day and has a gorgeous rose sent. I simply adore this product, it makes me feel a little like my grandmother dusting rosie, chalk smells all over my face. It comes in Citrus and Lavender too, but Rose is my favourite.
Before festival season hits, run, run I tell you as fast as you can to Space NK and get your Jurlique fix. In fact at Space NK at the moment if you sign up to their points card you will get a lovely little make up travel bag free... Just pop in your new Jurlique goodies, a waterproof mascara and your summer make up bag is sorted.
Ciao for now.

Friendly Fires Pala

In other news, my boyfriend Ed Macfarlane is in a band called Friendly Fires. Their new album is coming out on the 16th May and you can hear a preview of the track 'Live Those Days Tonight' here on youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArfRdgi8BlE

I'm so pleased for Ed that the difficult writing work is over and Pala can finally be heard by his fans. It feels like it has been a long, hard, slog but I'm sure it's worth it! I hopefully get to hear the album on Thursday, but the little bits I have sampled before have been fantastic and are a clear progression from the first record.

The Studio in the Palace

Hello all, I'm all a bit sick today, and decided to cure my boredom with a spot of blogging. Perhaps the burst of writing could will my throat to get better! I thought I would blog about a couple of exciting ventures/things/products going on in and around my life...

The Studio in the Palace is a lovely new space in South London set up by two of my favourite people, Lucy & Graeme. Lucy I'm sure you will all know from all my previous blogging as my tutor, teacher, boss, sister (although by different fathers), artist, soul mate etc and Graeme is her irish boy who is an excellent musician, photographer and and amazing graphic designer (he produces all the imagery behind their creative ventures).

In fact, Graeme! You owe me a watercolour! You said I could have one!

Anyway, aside from all their work and music making in The Lovebirds and The Life, The Love and The Grateful (look em up) they now have a lovely studio boasting a very competitive rate and a discount for students! Not only that but it's beautiful and so lovingly hand made. They have all the equipment you need so get down there and get shooting!

So... I'm doing the London to Brighton Bike Ride!

On Sunday the 19th June (MAN ALIVE LESS THAN 3 MONTHS) I will be somewhat cycling to Brighton in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Heart Disease is the UK's biggest killer, so you best bloody sponser me, or be at the finish with an ice cold alcoholic beverage. Thanks!

New Vanilla Lipcote and The Painted Lady throw a party!

In support of my very favourite Lipcote, and my lovely friends down at the Painted Lady Salon on Redchurch Street, I was offering a lip service of retro red plus a slick of Lipcote to keep it on during the launch party for Nails at the Painted Lady! The girls were on hand for manicures and the cocktails were flowing freely! What a fantastic night. Fish pedicures 'n all! So if you need yourself a mani or pedi, get down to Redchurch Street, and have your hair done by the amazing Belinda and Dom too! (Don't forget that the Painted Lady was the setting for the book I worked on written by Belinda 'Style Me Vintage Hair')

In other news around the launch Lipcote now have their fantastic new Vanilla scented version exclusively in Urban Outfitters! Have a peek, the new fragrance is lush!

London College of Fashion MA Shoot.

I collaborated with LCF and photographer Michiel Meewis for the MA Students shoot. It looks fantastic and was a very fun couple of days. There are more lovely images of Flower, she was my favourite, I did her hair, make up, and false nails!

The Pierces...

It's all changed since I've met The Pierces.

I went down to the Lock Tavern in Camden with my favourite Lucy Wearing for a few drinks and to see them play. Lucy is working with them at the moment (I'm sure as I write she is tucking into bed ready for a five am car to Daybreak with them) and introduced me after the show. They are so beautiful and their songs are the definition of lush and heady fleetwood mac vibes. I URGE you to see them soon. Such a treat in a lovely small room.

Need to get me an Alabama accent.

I'm reading 'A boy in a dress masks fashion's real scandal'

Barbara Ellen in the Observer today writes about Andrej Pejic and '"the ultimate rejection of the female body" by "evil" gay fashion designers.' I wrote about this idea in my dissertation last year.

Give it a read if you get a chance...

Kristian Aadnevik...

Went down to Kristian Aadnevik at the Old Naval club in St James Square with TIGI Catwalk. A fantastic show in a fantastic setting. The show itself was held outside in the courtyard which added a romantic side to the collection. I was happy because the key inspiration was heavy metal! I love anything goth at the moment.

Nick Irwin was leading the TIGI creative team for the hair. He was a fantastic energy, and really responded to the idea that this girl went to gigs, got right into the mosh pit, but still looked sexy. The hair was well moussed, prepped, back brushed and then straightened to achieve the final look. When everything came together the girls began to look untouchable. The blocked out brows were a great touch.

Definitely bleaching my eyebrows and digging up that slipknot cd...
